About

How I got here.

I build AI products for a living, and I talk about them in plain English.

I work as an AI product manager at one of the largest healthcare companies in the country. My products live in the supply chain, the part of medicine made of trucks and schedules and warehouse shelves. When that part works, a nurse opens a drawer and finds what she needs. Nobody thanks the algorithm, which is as it should be.

I didn't get here the usual way. I have no Ivy League degree and I never worked at a big tech company. I taught myself to write code, ran a web studio, ran operations, and then studied AI through MIT's professional program because I wanted to know I could build at that level.

In 2025 I wrote a book, Punching Above Your Weight, in one week. The morning after I finished the draft, my father's heart stopped in a hospital bed. He came back. I have had less patience for wasted time ever since.

In October 2026 I went back and revised the book: the research is now in the text, the quotations are checked, and there are rules for using AI at work. A book that tells you to check the machine has to meet its own standard.

I also created Grain, a readiness method for companies that want AI agents working in production, not just in a demo. It starts with the data at the level of detail an agent actually acts on, then moves to the people and process around it, and it's measured in dollars. And I speak wherever people will have me: library branches, civic groups, and companies trying to work out what any of this means for them.

And I'm a musician. Synth, guitar, and live looping, mostly.

Why the boxing

I grew up watching Tyson fights with my dad. My hero was Ali. A signed pair of Ali and Frazier gloves sits on a high shelf in my home.

To punch above your weight is to fight smarter than your size suggests, and to still be standing late in the fight. The book is built on that idea. I try to work that way too.
