FIELD NOTES | Proof of the Supermind
This morning I woke up to find Punching Above Your Weight ranked #8 in Amazon’s Top New Releases in Artificial Intelligence.
Let that sink in.
We wrote this book in a week. Published it within a month. No traditional publishing gatekeepers. No committee approvals. No waiting for permission.
Just vision, discipline, and the supermind at work.
What is the Supermind?
Thomas Malone at MIT defines a supermind as a group of individuals, tools, and technologies working together intelligently. AI itself is part of it. But so is this process:
Me, writing with clarity and urgency
ChatGPT, co-drafting and sharpening structure
Amazon KDP, distributing to the world instantly
Readers, engaging, reviewing, amplifying
The supermind isn’t a sci-fi fantasy. It’s here. It’s us, leveraging collective intelligence and new tools to create at speeds no single person could match alone.
If you want to dive deeper, his book Superminds: The Surprising Power of People and Computers Thinking Together is essential reading.
Why This Matters
This book was an experiment in possibilities. Could I distill my AI philosophy, frameworks, and underdog mindset into something useful within days instead of years? Could I bypass my inner perfectionist and get it into readers’ hands while it was still urgent and alive?
Turns out, yes.
The top 10 ranking isn’t the trophy. The real win is proof:
✅ Proof that strategic constraints fuel speed and clarity
✅ Proof that writing, editing, designing, and publishing can be compressed with the right tools
✅ Proof that when humans and AI work together, what’s possible changes
What’s Next
I’m not stopping here. This was just Round One.
I’m building a full trilogy. Creating AI products to reshape the infrastructure behind it all. Designing, teaching, performing, and sharing what I learn along the way.
Because the supermind is only as strong as its willingness to share knowledge freely and keep learning.
If you’re reading this, ask yourself:
What could I create if I stopped waiting for permission?
What does my version of the supermind look like?
Because the age of lone geniuses is over. The future belongs to those who can think, build, and learn together - at the speed of reality.
